What are the hardware requirements for weightlifting?
Weightlifting is a sport based on the weight of the lifted barbell. It consists of two items: snatch and clean and jerk. The highest organization for weightlifting is the International Weightlifting Federation, established in 1920 and headquartered in Budapest, Hungary.
Field: The weightlifting platform or field is 4 meters long, 4 meters wide, and the platform height is 80 to 150 mm. A 5 cm wide bright colored border must be painted around the countertop. The weightlifting platform can be made of wood, plastic or other strong materials. The table surface shall not be coated with lubricating paint.
Equipment: The barbell consists of a horizontal bar, a sleeve, a clamp, and a barbell sheet. The men’s barbell weighs 25 kg (plus clamps at both ends). The women’s barbell weighs 20 kilograms. A 25 kg barbell is red, 20 kg is blue, 15 kg is yellow, 10 kg is green, 5 kg is white, 2.5 kg is red, 2 kg is blue, 1.5 kg is yellow, and 1 kg is green , 0.5 kg is white.
Clothing and protective gear: Athletes in weightlifting competitions must wear weightlifting clothes, which are in tights and trousers. Male athletes must wear protective or tight briefs. Female athletes must wear a bra and tight briefs. The heel of the weightlifting shoe should be in a normal shape. The sole shall not exceed 5 mm of the upper, and the height of the upper shall not exceed 130 mm. The weightlifting belt must be worn outside the weightlifting suit, and the width must not exceed 120mm.
